Bunny Blend Yarn. Beth Acker, from Acker's Acres Angoras in Gray
Maine, breeds lovely Angora rabbits. Her focus is on fleece
production. Beth meticulously grades the fleece into 6 categories.
This is the base for her beautiful hand dyed Angora/Merino blend yarns and
roving. She uses Super-wash Merino so that her customers can machine
wash their hand knits. Beth's specialty is a 40% Angora/60% Merino
sport weight yarn called Bunny Blend that is just wonderful. She did
allow me to make her a 90% Angora/10% Merino lace weight yarn that is to die
for! Did I mention that Beth gives seminars on spinning and Angora
care?

Terry Miller from Snowshoe Farm Alpacas
in Vermont worked many hours to hand knit two pairs of socks for us.
She made Shawn's out of 40% Suri, 25% Merino, 20% Huacaya and 15% Nylon
blend, and mine (Terry dyed them purple and blue!) are 40% Huacaya, 25%
Merino, 20% Suri and 15% nylon. I can't tell you how wonderful it was
to wear the socks when we were without power and heat for a couple of days
due to the ice storm. Shawn hooked up the generator after day two for
heat, but it still felt like Maine outside! Click
here to visit Terry's website.
The last two pictures are from the ice storm that hit here at the end
of January 2009.
